Welcome to the website of the Vehicle Systems, Dynamics, and Design Laboratory (VSDDL), part of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University.

VSDDL was founded in August 2018. Since then, we have been awarded over $1.8M in federally funded research by NASA, the USAF, and the FAA – either directly, or through collaborative projects with our multiple industry partners.

VSDDL research is focused on flight vehicles and organized along the 4-step “pipeline” shown below, which includes:
(1) aircraft sizing and optimization
(2) stability/control analysis and control law development
(3) flight simulation
(4) subscale prototyping and flight testing

At VSDDL, we value collaborations with the aerospace industry, in particular with small business concerns. If you are interested in working with VSDDL on research, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Dr. Imon Chakraborty
